PRIMA Names Marshall W. Davies, Ph.D., as Executive Director
October 12, 2011, Alexandria, Va. — The Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) is pleased to announce that Marshall W. Davies, Ph.D., has been named executive director, effective immediately.
Davies was hired as the Association’s deputy executive director in 1994 and has served two stints as its interim executive director. During his tenure at PRIMA, Davies has helped grow the Association’s programs and services as well as extending its reach beyond its traditional constituency.
“The PRIMA board is thrilled to work with Marshall in his new capacity as executive director,” said PRIMA President Cindy Mallett, AIC, CWCP, ARM-P. “Marshall has a long relationship with PRIMA and its members and I’m sure it will continue to grow with his new position.”
”This is a great opportunity,” said Davies. “I am looking forward to working with the board and staff to take PRIMA to the next level of service to its members and their profession.”
Previously, Davies was the deputy executive director for the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, after serving as its education director.
Davies holds a doctorate in Higher Education Administration and Educational Psychology from the University of Toledo, as well as a master’s of education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
The Association’s mission is to promote effective risk management in the public interest as an essential component of public administration. Headquartered in Alexandria, VA, PRIMA is the largest risk management association dedicated solely to the practice of risk management in the public sector. PRIMA’s membership is made up of more than 1,500 entities in over 1,000 jurisdictions.
