PRIMA Statement About Coronavirus
March 5, 2020
PRIMA, as the leading risk management association for the public sector, is concerned with the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the effect it has had on our global and local communities, and the strain it has put on risk management professionals everywhere.
As we monitor the ever-evolving situation, PRIMA would like you to be aware of the following resources, which provide guidance on preventing the spread of the virus, appropriate occupational health measures, and recommended national and international protocols.
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Guidance for Businesses and Employers to Plan and Respond to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
- World Health Organization (WHO) Q and A on Coronavirus
- Ready.gov’s Guide on Preparing for a Pandemic
As the impact of the coronavirus evolves, you can count on PRIMA to continue to share information and provide updates as well as how it impacts the public risk management community.
As PRIMA finalizes logistics for the 2020 Annual Conference, June 14-17, in Nashville, we want to assure attendees, exhibitors, speakers and partners that we are proceeding as planned to hold a safe, productive, and successful event. PRIMA is working with our venue, Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, to discuss appropriate sanitary, health, and other measures to provide our attendees with a fun and safe experience.
In the meantime, we ask all risk managers to practice good health habits and stay informed. As we wait for this epidemic to end, PRIMA will continue to provide you with the best educational resources, training, and events to benefit your entity and community.
