PRIMA President Attends: African American Leadership Summit in Washington D.C.
PRIMA would like to announce that PRIMA's President James E. Huckaby, attended and participated in the African American Leadership Summit March 27-28, 2006 which was held in Washington, D.C.
The African American Leadership Summit brought together government leaders and prominent African Americans from nationwide to address issues impacting our communities, including economic development, job creation, education and health care. Members of Congress, prominent members of the Bush Administration, and other experts led panels on important legislative concerns. By examining these issues, the participants looked at ways to strengthen our country and create more opportunities for African Americans.
Huckaby, who has been the Risk Manager for the Mesquite Independent School District (MISD) in Mesquite, Texas for the past 14 years, has been cited as one of the "Top 10" public risk managers in America as published in the July 2000 edition of American City & County magazine. He also has received numerous awards including the prestigious Texas Risk Manager of the Year Award in 1996, and was recognized by the Texas Safety Association as the 1995 Safety Manager of the Year. Huckaby is a frequent speaker on risk management topics and has presented in both Australia and England within the past nine months.
Huckaby was nominated to attend this prestigious summit by U.S.Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (Summit Chair) and U.S. Senator Rick Santorum (Co-Chair).
