PRIMA has partnered with George Mason University (GMU) to offer GMU's Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Program to PRIMA members at a discounted rate! This four-month program is designed for seasoned risk management professionals who are seeking executive roles.

Through this collaboration, PRIMA members receive a 10% discount on tuition.

GMU’s CRO Program prepares you to lead and strategically align your organization's risk management function with its overall mission and business objectives. You will gain the executive knowledge needed to set risk appetite, manage complex risks, and drive innovation while serving as a key liaison across the C-Suite and business units.

The ideal candidate has 

  • Passion and drive toward understanding and solving organizational challenges
  • Working knowledge of current risk management tools and frameworks
  • Existing leadership and managerial experience

Scholarship

This scholarship is for PRIMA members and intended for mid- to senior-level professionals with seven or more years of leadership experience. Applicants should have oversight in areas such as risk, strategy, fraud, budgeting, performance, and/or program management.

The application requires a statement of intent of maximum length 750 words or less.

Executive Certificate

    This program is delivered as a non-degree, executive certificate. Attendees have the opportunity to add a badge credential from Credly for successful completion of the program to their resume for organizational recognition (internal and external) and to indicate the accomplishment of obtaining a George Mason University credential. In addition to the Credly badge, attendees receive 8.5 CEUs upon successful completion of the program.

    Schedule

    This is a hybrid program and includes both live online sessions and in-person sessions at GMU’s Mason Square campus in Arlington, VA.

    • In-person opening session: February 2-4, 2027
    • Online sessions: February 9, March 12, 2027
    • Mid-Program in-person session: March 17-18, 2027
    • Online sessions: March 22 - May 6, 2027
    • In-person closing session: May 11-12, 2027

    Program Cost

    • $7,650 for PRIMA members (discounted from $8,500)
    • The $5,500 scholarship recipient will be responsible for the remaining tuition balance of $3,000.
