November 18 | 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. ET
In a climate of inflation, supply chain volatility, and shifting regulatory frameworks, property valuation has quietly become one of the most consequential inputs to public sector risk management.
This session unpacks how replacement cost assumptions are shifting under current economic pressure, and why relying on outdated figures can expose public entities to underinsurance, misaligned capital planning, and slower recovery after a loss. Attendees will explore how accurate, current valuations feed directly into budgeting, reserve adequacy, and emergency preparedness, turning a routine compliance task into a genuine strategic asset.
The discussion will also address how to coordinate valuation data across finance, facilities, insurance, and emergency management without conflating insurance values with financial reporting or lifecycle costing. Risk professionals will leave with a practical framework for building annual valuation reviews into their risk management cycle, grounded in authoritative construction cost indices rather than guesswork.
Attendee Takeaways:
- Why replacement cost assumptions are shifting under current economic pressure.
- How outdated valuations expose public entities to underinsurance and capital planning gaps.
- How accurate, current valuations strengthen budgeting, reserve adequacy, and emergency preparedness.
- How to build annual valuation reviews into your risk management cycle using authoritative cost indices.
